Touchpad Pro 2.0 Released

If you liked the cool Touchpad application released a couple of weeks ago, you’re going to love the next generation Touchpad Pro. This new version is absolutely packed with new features, most of them user requests. For those who are not familiar, Touchpad Pro is an application built on top of VNC that lets you control your main computer or laptop’s mouse and keyboard right from your iPhone or iPod Touch. Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ll find in the new version:
- New “Remote” button with cursor control and buttons for enter/escape/tab/backspace/tab and space keys. (Use with your media player!)
- Cursor inertia; flick in any direction and the mouse will continue to travel for a distance.
- Mouse acceleration.
- Portrait and landscape mode support.
- Online VNC connection help screen.
- Scroll with two-fingered vertical swipes.
- Powerpoint slide control with horizontal two-fingered swipes.
- Two-finger tap to click right mouse button.
- Pinch to zoom images, PDF documents, font size in browser, etc.
- Preferences to invert scrolling, add text to the icons, and toggle quit on suspend.
Whew! That’s a lot of new features! And I’ve only touched on what it can be used with. My only complaint is that he removed the side-of-the-screen scrolling, where you could scroll by swiping down the right side of the screen. I loved that feature because I could scroll and navigate one-handed. Other than that though this is an extremely good update, and a must-have for anyone who’s a fan of this app. Check the vid below, and then head on over to the Touchpad Pro website for more details.
