Trism: Bejeweled With Triangles. And Gravity.

by Eric March on March 1, 2008 at 2:27 am

TrismDevelopment newcomer Demiforce have turned up on the scene with a hell of a good first showing in the form of Trism. The game follows the Bejeweled style of gameplay, but does it with triangular shapes and angular movement instead of straight horizontal and vertical motion. Trism takes it one step further though and adds gravity into the mix by having the triangles fall whichever way your device sees as down whenever a match is made. This ups the strategy by forcing you to think through your moves in all directions to eliminate as many tiles as possible. The game is colourful and well-designed and plays quite well. The only problem is, you can’t have it. Not yet anyway; while it has been developed on a jailbroken iPhone, Demiforce member Steve Demiter informed GameSetWatch that it is still in its early developmental stages, and depending on its capabilities, limitations, and terms of use, the crew have their sights set on an SDK port and eventual release through iTunes. A short demo will be made available on the Demiforce website soon, with the commercial version (SDK criteria permitting) appearing on iTunes later on. If this 10-day-old rush job is any indication of the level of quality we can expect to see in the finished product, it would be worth shelling out a few bucks at the very least. Check out the vid after the break.

wow that’s awesome! well i was wondering if you guys could do a post about the 1.14 jailbreaks that are out. like the rating them or something? or which ever you guys think was the most stable/easiest/fastest etc.

I’d like to do a 1.1.4 jailbreak article, but from what I have been able to gather so far the only semi-working jailbreak on the Touch for 1.1.4 is ZiPhone, which still only works reliably on 8-gig devices. 16-gig devices are very iffy and most won’t work. I don’t think there are any 32-gig devices that have been successfully jailbroken with ZiPhone. Give it a bit; I’m sure the iPhone Dev Team will be around shortly with their native 1.1.3/1.1.4 jailbreak.
