Pool 1.0 Released

by Eric March on February 11, 2008 at 10:16 pm

Steve’s ball, corner pocketYet another game release. This time, the classic gentleman’s game of pool gets the Touch treatment.

Sporting a simple game of 8-ball, Pool comes off surprisingly well. Featuring numerous options to customize gameplay to your liking, the touchscreen interface is tweaked just enough to allow some pretty accurate control over cue positioning and movement — well enough to get your game on with relish. The power meter works quite well too; drag the meter to set your power level and let go to take the shot.

The game does lack some features and a little polish. The balls don’t spin, but given the aspect of the game it’s probably for the best that you’re able to see the ball numbers at all time. There are also no options for putting a little English on the ball. (That’s billiard talk for adding a little spin, savvy?)

Overall though it’s a brilliant first run, so if you’ve been hankering to shoot some stick on the go, have at it. Pool is available in Installer on the iPod Touch Fans repo, or manual download an install from Adalat’s homepage.
