snes4iphone Released

Kirby is waiting. It seems in all the hullabaloo of switching over to the new hosting and trying to get all of these problems fixed up, I completely overlooked the fact that ZodTTD finally released snes4iphone. Yes, I’ve been a bad blogger. For that one or two of you who don’t know, snes4iphone is a Super Nintendo emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Having played with it briefly I can say that it works pretty well, though it does require a frameskip of 3 in order to be playable to an acceptable degree. However, Zod’s already working on that.

Straight from ZodTTD.com comes the worlds first Super Nintendo (SNES) emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch!
It’s fast, it has save states, and features landscape and portrait mode! And best of all, it’s now a public release.

I am working on implementing the assembly CPU core as well as add sound support, for the next release. Beta testers get ready for a better performing release soon!

For a first release it’s a very good and seems to be quite compatible — but I’ll absolutely be looking forward to the optimized version with the assembler core. That ought to speed things up significantly.
